N Zone Sports
🏀 WINTER YOUTH BASKETBALL — N ZONE SPORTS

Recreational 5-on-5 basketball focused on development, character, teamwork, and FUN!

January–Early March 2027 • Sundays • Organ Mountain High School

🚨 STOP — READ BEFORE REGISTERING

Registration is a contract with N Zone Sports—not a specific coach, team, teammate, schedule, or request. By registering, you accept all eligibility, verification, team-balancing, request, practice, building-entry, and refund policies below.

Registration Prices & Pricing Tiers

  • Registration: $159
  • Standard Registration: $179 — The regular registration price during the standard registration period.
  • Late Registration: $199 — The registration price during the late registration period.

Why these prices? Registration supports the season program and its included benefits, such as guaranteed team placement and playing time, an official league jersey, assigned officials, league game-day equipment, Character Value Medals, and an end-of-season award. The basketball program at Organ Mountain High School involves higher costs to meet the school’s venue requirements. Gym venue fees are approximately 3–4 times the typical venue fees for our other sports programs. These higher venue costs are reflected in the registration prices. Optional matching basketball shorts are a separate checkout add-on. The $2 game-day door cover charge is separate from player registration; its exemptions are listed below.

NEW THIS SEASON — $2 DOOR COVER CHARGE

A $2 door cover charge applies to game-day entry at Organ Mountain High School. Children age 5 and under, registered players, and each team’s Head Coach are exempt from the door fee. This charge helps support custodians, scorekeepers, additional personnel, and increased security on school grounds needed to maintain a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all families. We appreciate your understanding and support.

  • All sales are final after registration ends and team building, balancing, and uniform ordering begin.

Age / Grade Placement

Enter the player’s true DOB and correct grade. School retention, advancement, homeschool status, coach preference, or team preference does not change sports placement.

  • After registration ends, removal for inaccurate or unverifiable information may occur without refund.
  • No playing up or down—no exceptions.

Program & Game Format

N Zone Sports basketball emphasizes dribbling, passing, defense, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character over winning. Each game day highlights Sportsmanship, Leadership, Teamwork, or Effort, with Character Value Medals recognizing players who demonstrate those values.

  • Two 20-minute halves with a running clock; the clock stops for shooting fouls and timeouts.
  • Officials are assigned to every game at no additional game fee.
  • Ball sizes: 1st–4th Grade, 25.5 inches; 5th–6th Grade, 27.5 inches.
  • Weekly scores, statistics, and standings may be posted on the N Zone Sports website.

  • Character Value Medals awarded throughout the season.
  • End-of-season award for every player.

👥 Team Requests & Balancing — Important

This is not a team-specific signup. N Zone Sports guarantees a place on a team with playing time, not a particular coach, teammate, roster, practice schedule, or request. Balanced teams are more important than approving requests. Families must be prepared for a request not to be granted.

Player, Coach & Team Requests

  • Enter every request in the Special Requests box on the next registration screen.
  • First and last names are required.
  • Requests are considered but never guaranteed.
  • Requests for five or more players should not be expected to be granted.
  • No team signups are permitted; every player registers individually.
  • No refund is issued because a request is not granted.

Request Deadline

Requests may be added, removed, or changed only before registration ends. Requests are not accepted and cannot be changed after registration closes because team building, balancing, and uniform ordering begin immediately.

How to Enter a Request (Example)

After reviewing this event description, continue to the next registration screen and locate the Special Requests box. Enter complete names and details.

ENTER REQUEST HERE:
Coach Request: John Smith (first and last name required).
Buddy Request: Please place my child with Jane Doe, 3rd Grade.

PLEASE NOTE: Incomplete requests may not be considered. Requests are not guaranteed and cannot be added or changed after registration closes.

Team Size & League Culture

Teams generally have 9–12 players depending on final registration. The league forms and balances rosters to protect playing time and development. The League Director or Manager may adjust formats, standings, scores, playoffs, schedules, or rules when needed to preserve a FUN, character-focused recreational atmosphere.

Practices

Coaches set practice days, locations, and times based on team needs and availability. Families should prepare for either weekday practice after 5:30 PM or practice at the game venue before games.

  • Coaches are encouraged to practice weekly 1–2 times either during the week or before a game.
  • Weekday practice is not mandatory; however, teams should be offered at least one one-hour practice opportunity weekly, either on a weekday or before a game, unless canceled or rescheduled.
  • N Zone Sports cannot guarantee that a coach’s practice schedule or location will fit every family.
  • Coaches may occasionally cancel or reschedule practices.
  • Refunds are not granted when a player cannot attend practices or when a coach cancels or reschedules practice.

Interested in Coaching?

Select YES for Assistant Coach or Head Coach during player registration. Head Coaches are needed most. The league generally contacts needed volunteers within 1–2 weeks after registration ends.

Prospective Coaches: Practice Venue Planning

Practice venues are currently not reserved. If you plan to coach and do not have a practice venue you can use, please contact N Zone Sports — Las Cruces early so we can proactively work on finding practice venues. Email: lascruces@nzonesports.com. Phone: (575) 541-4876. Contacting us early does not guarantee a venue or selection as a coach. Otherwise, the league will contact coaches through its normal process after registration ends.

  • Head Coaches must be selected by N Zone Sports, pass a youth background screening, attend the mandatory preseason coaches meeting, and complete the season in good standing.
  • Qualified selected Head Coaches receive a 50% registration discount or refund after fulfilling the season, an official Head Coach shirt, an end-of-season thank-you plaque, and assignment to an official team.

After Registration & Meet N’ Greet

  1. You will receive an automated payment and registration confirmation email.
  2. The league builds balanced teams, assigns coaches, and submits uniform orders immediately after registration closes.
  3. Coaches generally receive rosters 1–2 weeks after registration ends and may then contact families.
  4. The Meet N’ Greet is the official season opener; exact January 2027 date, time, and location details are TBA. There are no games that day.

At the Meet N’ Greet, players meet their coach and teammates, receive and try on their jersey and purchased add-ons, and participate in a first practice.

Matching Player Fan Jerseys

Matching fan jerseys may be ordered only at the league venue on Meet N’ Greet day. Match your player’s team jersey and add a custom name and number. Custom orders are typically available for pickup by the second game.

League Communication & Weekly Standings — Parent Guide

Whether you register shortly before the season or months in advance, save this guide and refer to it as the season approaches.

  1. Check Happening Now first. Meet N’ Greet details, schedules, and important league information are posted in the Happening Now section of the N Zone Sports website before league-wide emails or text messages are sent.
  2. Watch for league messages. We typically email and text important information league-wide, but messages can still be missed. Please do not rely solely on receiving an email or text; check Happening Now as the season approaches and throughout the season.
  3. Two weeks before Meet N’ Greet: Communication about your program’s Meet N’ Greet is typically sent approximately two weeks before the event. If you have not received an email or text by that point, check Happening Now, where the event information will be posted. If the date has not yet been announced, continue checking Happening Now as the season approaches.
  4. During the season: Weekly season standings updates for league-play divisions are included and will appear in Happening Now or the Standings section when available, typically on Tuesdays. Standings apply only to divisions with league standings.

Schedule & Facility Policies

Games are planned for Sundays from January through early March 2027 at Organ Mountain High School. Exact game dates and times are TBD. Dates, times, and venues may change because of school availability, weather, unforeseen circumstances, or league needs.

Please do not contact Organ Mountain High School about this event or for league information. Direct all event questions and information requests to N Zone Sports — Las Cruces. Email: lascruces@nzonesports.com. Phone: (575) 541-4876. Office Hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM.

The $2 door cover charge applies to building entry on game days, except for children age 5 and under, registered players, and each team’s Head Coach. Please plan accordingly and share this requirement with all attending family members and guests.

IMPORTANT — Court Care & Required Footwear

  • No food or drinks are allowed on the actual basketball court. Keep all food and beverages off the court.
  • Nothing may be rolled onto the basketball court.
  • ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR BASKETBALL OR TENNIS SHOES TO PLAY ON THIS COURT.
  • Boots, heavy-duty shoes, and Crocs are not permitted for play. Players must have the required footwear to participate.

🔒 Increased Security & No-Loitering Policy

There will be increased security throughout the season on school grounds. Loitering in the parking lots is strictly prohibited. There is no loitering after games, and this policy will be strictly enforced. After the final games conclude, the school grounds will close shortly afterward. All players, families, coaches, and guests must leave the building and school property promptly.

Zero-Tolerance Conduct Policy

Aggressive behavior, violence, and threats of violence will not be tolerated. This zero-tolerance policy applies to all players, coaches, families, and guests. N Zone Sports and LCPS will enforce this policy and address violations.

Refund Policy — Please Read Carefully

Refund requests may be considered only before registration ends and before team building, balancing, and uniform ordering begin. Those processes start immediately after registration closes. After registration ends, all sales are final and refunds are not granted.

  • No refund is issued because a request is not granted.
  • No refund is issued for dissatisfaction with a coach, team, roster, playing position, performance, or balancing decision.
  • No refund is issued for injury, moving, missed games, practice conflicts, canceled or rescheduled practices, schedule or venue changes, weather, or other reasons after registration ends.
  • No refund is issued for an incorrect DOB or grade not corrected before registration closes.
  • No refund is issued after registration ends when age cannot be verified or information is false or inaccurate.
