More Than Sports. We're Building Community.

For me, N Zone Sports has never just been a business. It's been a major part of my life, my family, and my passion for serving kids and families through sports.

I'm Shane Larkin, owner and Program Director of N Zone Sports Westmoreland.

My journey with N Zone started long before we brought our programs to Western Pennsylvania. I was part of the N Zone Sports team from its early years in Tampa, Florida, and I've now spent more than a decade working in youth sports, programming, coaching, league operations, and athlete development.

When my family and I made the move from Florida to Pennsylvania, I knew I wanted to continue that journey.

Today, N Zone Sports Westmoreland has grown into a year-round sports organization serving families throughout Westmoreland County and the surrounding communities.

We offer youth sports leagues, N Zone Jr. multi-sport enrichment programs, camps, clinics, academies, private training, adult sports leagues, school and community programs, and more.

But what makes N Zone Westmoreland special isn't just what we offer.

It's who we are.

A FAMILY EFFORT

N Zone Westmoreland is truly a family-run operation.

My wife, Kathleen "Kat" Larkin, has been beside me throughout this journey. With a bachelor's degree in Dance and Choreography and years of experience teaching children, Kat brings another dimension to what we're able to offer our community. She has coached, instructed, organized, handled behind-the-scenes operations, and helped turn countless ideas into actual programs.

Our kids have grown up around N Zone, too. They're at the fields, in the gyms, participating in programs, helping Mom and Dad, and experiencing the same community we've worked so hard to create for other families.

And it doesn't stop with our immediate family. Our extended family has stepped in countless times over the years to help with registrations, equipment, concessions, setup, cleanup, scorekeeping, events, and all of the little things it takes to make a sports organization work.

When you participate with N Zone Westmoreland, there's a good chance you'll meet quite a few members of the family along the way!

OUR MISSION

Sports have an incredible ability to bring people together.

That's why our goal has never been to simply organize games.

We want to create environments where kids can learn, compete, build confidence, make friends, develop character, and discover what they're capable of.

For some kids, N Zone may be their first introduction to organized sports. For others, we're helping them prepare for school teams, improve their skills, or find the confidence to take their game to another level.

And for our adults?

Sometimes you just need a reason to put the cleats or basketball shoes back on and compete again! Wherever you are in your sports journey, we want there to be a place for you here.

BUILT IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY

What started as a vision to bring quality youth sports programming to our new home has grown into something our entire family is incredibly proud of.

We've built relationships with families, schools, childcare centers, facilities, coaches, businesses, and community organizations throughout the area.

And we're still growing.

We believe the best sports organizations aren't built by one person. They're built by families, coaches, volunteers, staff members, community partners, and athletes who believe in what you're creating.

We're incredibly thankful for the people who have become part of the N Zone family over the years.

MEET THE TEAM

The People Behind N Zone Westmoreland

Great programs require great people.

We're fortunate to have a dedicated team of coaches, directors, referees, administrators, family members, and longtime friends who believe in what we're building and care about the athletes and families we serve.

JUSTIN HAYES

Program Director | Lead Coach | Private Trainer

Justin has been a dedicated member of the N Zone team for four years and has become an important part of our programs throughout the community.

A talented multi-sport coach and fantastic mentor for young athletes, Justin has a natural ability to connect with kids while helping them develop their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game.

You'll find Justin coaching and leading programs across N Zone, from youth leagues and camps to clinics and developmental programs.

Justin also provides private and small-group training in football/flag football and basketball for athletes looking for additional instruction and development.

BRIA JONES

Assistant Director | Coach | Referee | Private Basketball Trainer

If you've been around N Zone for a while, there's a good chance you already know Bria!

Bria has worked alongside Shane and the N Zone team for more than eight years, making her one of the longest-tenured members of our organization.

A local educator and basketball coach, Bria brings a tremendous amount of experience working with young athletes. She coaches and officiates across multiple N Zone sports while taking a leadership role in our basketball leagues, camps, academies, and training programs.

More importantly, Bria has been an incredibly loyal teammate, leader, and partner as N Zone has continued to grow.

She also offers private basketball training for athletes interested in developing their skills and taking their game to the next level.

JOSH CLINGENSMITH

Marketing Advisor | Basketball & Flag Football Coach | Referee | Resident Competitor

Josh might have the most job titles on the N Zone team — and somehow still finds time to actually play!

One of Shane and Kat's closest friends, Josh has been a tremendous supporter of N Zone and everything we're building in the community.

Professionally, Josh is an experienced marketing entrepreneur who provides valuable guidance and support to N Zone behind the scenes. On game day, however, you'll find him doing just about anything we need — coaching, officiating, helping direct programs, or competing himself.

Josh currently plays in both our Adult Basketball and Adult Flag Football leagues, so depending on the day, he might be helping run the event or trying to win it.

Outside of N Zone, Josh operates his own marketing company and is currently accepting new clients.

STEPHANIE LARKIN

Office Manager | The One Who Keeps Us Organized

Every team needs someone who keeps everything moving behind the scenes.

For us, that's Stephanie.

Shane's sister, Stephanie joined the N Zone team in 2023 and has become a vital part of our day-to-day operations.

She assists with registrations, rosters, payments, parent communication, paperwork, and overall program organization, helping make sure the details are handled so our coaches and directors can focus on delivering great programs.

A lot of what Stephanie does happens behind the scenes — but anyone who has ever operated a sports league knows just how important that work is.

She's family in the literal sense, but she's also become an essential part of the N Zone team.

Behind every league, class, camp, practice, tournament, and event is a group of people working together to make it happen.

We're coaches. We're parents. We're educators. We're athletes. We're friends. We're family.

And we genuinely care about creating great experiences for the people who participate in our programs.
