Pay
$25–$35 per hour
Compensation is based on coaching experience, qualifications, certifications, and the value you bring to our team.
Position Overview
As the Head Basketball Coach, you will be responsible for leading basketball leagues, camps, clinics, and training sessions for boys and girls ages 4–14. You will also mentor and supervise assistant coaches while ensuring every program delivers a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for players and families.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience coaching youth basketball (ages 4–14).
- Minimum 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising assistant coaches or coaching staff.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, skill development, and age-appropriate coaching techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and motivating young athletes.
- Ability to create a fun, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging basketball practices, camps, clinics, and league sessions.
- Teach age-appropriate fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and game strategy.
- Lead and mentor assistant coaches to ensure consistent instruction and program quality.
- Organize practice plans and game-day activities.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe environment for all participants.
- Communicate professionally with parents, players, and N Zone Sports leadership.
- Ensure equipment is organized, maintained, and used safely.
- Represent N Zone Sports with professionalism and enthusiasm at all events.
